Female Baltimore Oriole Pulling Line for Nesting Materials

Post on May 5, 2014 Baltimore Oriole BirdsSong Bird

Took a quite break, went Orioles nest scouting at White Rock Lake Boy Scout Hill location and stumbled upon this bright yellow bird working hard on pulling something out of a tree branch. Closer to the bird revealed a female Baltimore Oriole was pulling what appeared to be a nylon line, presumably a hung kite line. She didn’t get it out.
