Hen Northern Shoveler In Flight

Post on November 22, 2014 Northern Shoveler Duck BirdsWaterfowl

Female Northern Shoveler landing post. If not for the large distinctive spoon-shaped bill with speckled with black dots, it’s easily mistaken from common female mallard with light brownish head , blackish crown and brownish speckled body – they are about the same size too.
