The American White Pelicans roost at Sunset Bay White Rock Lake, Dallas Texas every year from Late September to March but the best time to get them is during October. Get there early, wait for the sun to hit the fall foliage as backdrop or water reflection. There’s a 15-minute window before the harsh light hit the birds, exposure gets tougher after that.
