Hooded Merganser in Flight, Take off

It’s late in the season, only three pairs wintering Hooded Mergansers left at Los Colinas and not sure when they will head back to the North. My camera has returned from Canon Service and thought i give the Auto-focus engine a little spin, see it’s up to the factory standard. Not bad, the head is tack sharp and tracking is right on the money though the entire session took me 3 and 1/2 hours to get a keeper. Hey, it’s a skittish bird and it takes effort to get this close for a flyer.

As for the camera that died last week on the field, the tech said my Mark IV power supply assembly not operate properly and has repaired. That cost me $219.00 out of warranty service not including shipping and taxes.
