American Coot on Ice

Post on January 8, 2015 Coot and Moorhen Waterfowl

It got cold in North Dallas last night then the wind died down from 20+mph North the next morning. That means the local pond may freeze up with ice in calm water.

I was right and the timing is just perfect in the morning to find my favorite duck flyer pond in Carrollton froze up, with thin layer of ice enough to withstand the waterfowls.
