The 2nd Barred Owlet at White Rock Lake – Stretching legs

Post on April 10, 2014 Barred Owl Owl BirdsRaptor

The younger owlet at White Rock lake Sunset bay is more active and entertaining than the fledged sibling. This little fuzzball were out early, probably missed its partner and stayed out the hole preening and stretching till dusk.

Noted that It has fledged the same night after this picture was taken, made its way up on the same tree that housed the nest cavity.

The light was stunningly beautiful and what a difference in just couple days how fast the leaves have grow. The setting sun shined though nearby branches and leaves, cast interesting sculpture-like silhouetted patterns on the tree trunk.
